The five-star superior Tschuggen Grand Hotel in the snow-sure resort of Arosa is one of the ski world’s great hotels. Its spectacular spa has become a famous image and guests can enjoy every comfort and service, including a choice of five restaurants.

The Tschuggen Grand Hotel’s 5000m2, Mario Botta designed, Bergoase Spa is one of the world’s most iconic, located in the open space at the foot of the mountains, it uses geometrically organic bodies to “channel” daylight into the luxurious underground facilities, then at night they shine out above the village and look visually stunning.

For winter 2013–14 the local Arosa ski slopes have been connected by lifts and pistes to those of neighbouring Lenzerheide, to create one of the world’s biggest ski areas with 25km of piste – tripling what was previously available in Arosa. On the first day of the season hotel guests have exclusive use of Arosa’s slopes.

The hotel’s remarkable Tschuggen Express lift is a private mountain railway that can carry a dozen guests at a time on a 528m ascent from the hotel direct to the ski lift, climbing gradients of up to 52% on its journey of less than 21⁄2 minutes.
